Choices was born from the fundamental desire of two families who shared a vision for providing the best possible community living option for their sons, and were dissatisfied with the “standard mold” of current residential options. Initial research revealed two difficult realities; most Adult Family Homes and Community Based Residential Facilities were neither prepared nor appropriately skilled to meet the unique needs of their sons, and providers were unwilling or unable to individualize programs to fit the unique needs of those with Autism Spectrum Disorders. 

 

Determined not to give up, the families shared resources, knowledge and experiences to create a better option for their sons. They employed the assistance of an experienced residential consultant who shared a similar passion to innovate and create something better and different, and a short time later, Choices came to life.
